For the purpose of this section, outdoor seating shall be defined as follows:
OUTDOOR SEATING: Any area on the public sidewalk, public parkway or on public parking spaces adjacent to an existing business, including all associated furniture and related fixtures or equipment, where food and/or beverages may be consumed at tables and chairs, whether the food and/or beverages are purchased at the table or inside the adjacent business.
