Each of the figures of every number shall be not less than three inches (3") in height, of proportionate width, of such color and affixed in such place as to be easily and distinctly read and in plain view from the street. Said numbers shall be placed on the building either on, above or immediately to the side of the door, or at some other and more conspicuous place on or near the front of the building.
