9-4-1: HOUSE NUMBERING PLAN:
All buildings situated or hereafter erected or located on any of the streets, avenues and public highways within the Village shall be numbered by the owner or occupant thereof according to the following plan:
   A.   For the purpose of said numbering there are hereby established two (2) base lines: a north and south base line coinciding with the east section line of section 7 in Milton Township and an east and west base line coinciding with the north section lines of section 13 and section 14 in Winfield Township and the south section line of section 7 in Milton Township.
   B.   House numbers on the north and south streets, avenues and public highways shall begin at the east and west base line, which is zero, the first number north of said base line being known as 0 N 0 1, and the first number south of said base line being known as 0 S 0 1, one number being allotted for each fifteen feet (15') of frontage; provided, that house numbers south of Roosevelt Road shall begin with 1 S 0 1.
   C.   House numbers on the east and west streets, avenues and public highways shall begin with 26 W 0 1 west of the north and south base line, and with 27 W 0 1 at the east section lines of section 12, section 13 and section 24 in Winfield Township, and with 28 W 0 1 at the east section lines of section 14 and section 23 in Winfield Township; one number likewise being allotted for each fifteen feet (15') of frontage.
   D.   The numbers shall progress in the direction indicated, with each one-eighth (1/8) of a mile being allotted one hundred (100) numbers or less. The four hundred (400) block shall terminate at the quarter section lines in all cases. In fractional sections one hundred (100) numbers shall be allotted to each remaining one-eighth (1/8) of a mile.
   E.   Odd numbers shall be on the south and east sides of streets and even numbers shall be on the north and west sides of streets.
   F.   By the term "east and west streets" as used herein, is meant all streets the direction of which is easterly and westerly, and by the term "north and south streets" as used herein, is meant all streets the direction of which is northerly and southerly. (Ord. 299, 8-30-1963)
