6-1-6-1: CORNER SETBACK AREA DEFINED:
   A.   At the intersection of any village street improved for public traffic, there shall be a corner setback area. The corner setback area shall be established using the measurements found in figure 1 of this section. The village's setback areas reflect the different classifications of streets in the community, and the concomitant maximum speeds of traffic that may be found on the particular street.
   B.   The village manager shall designate each street within the corporate limits of the village as a local, collector or arterial street for the purpose of this code, which shall be on file in the office of the village clerk. The following definitions shall apply to said designations:
ARTERIAL STREETS: Designated state of Illinois or DuPage County routes or major village streets that allow traffic movement between area service highways and state routes, and roads of lesser importance. They serve as principal routes between retail, commercial, and industrial sites. The typical width of arterial streets is in excess of fifty feet (50').
COLLECTOR STREETS: Connect residential subdivisions and gather traffic from local streets and channel it onto the arterial road network. The typical pavement width of a collector street is between thirty six (36) to forty eight feet (48').
LOCAL STREETS: Provide direct access to adjacent properties and are most commonly found within residential subdivisions. The typical width of a local street is less than thirty six feet (36'). (Ord. 2007-8-43, 8-16-2007)
