5-1-2: APPOINTMENTS:
All officers and men in the police department, except the chief, shall be appointed in accordance with the provisions of Illinois Compiled Statutes entitled "an act to provide for the appointment of a board of fire and police commissioners" 1 . The chief of police shall be the ranking officer of the department. (Ord. 447, 2-14-1974; amd. per correspondence dated 2-26-2008)
