2-15-1: CREATION AND MEMBERSHIP:
   A.   There is hereby established a commission to be known as the Community Events Commission of the Village. It shall be the duty of the commission to develop, promote and coordinate a series of community events for the enjoyment and education of the residents of the Village and visitors to our Village.
   B.   The commission shall consist of (11) members, a majority of whom shall be residents of the Village and/or employees of Winfield Governmental Bodies. The Village President shall appoint the members of the commission with the advice and consent of the Board of Trustees. The Village President shall appoint the chairperson. The Village President shall be an ex officio member of the commission. Each member and the chairperson so appointed, shall serve staggered four (4) year terms, The President will determine the staggered terms. The chairperson shall serve no more than two (2) consecutive terms as chairperson.
   C.   A member may be removed by the Village President for any reason with the advice and consent of the Board of Trustees, including but not limited to failure to attend at least fifty percent (50%) of the meetings. (Ord. 2023-02-04, 2-16-2023)
