14-1-2: APPOINTMENTS:
The village manager is hereby authorized to appoint persons to hold the hearing officer and other positions set forth in chapters 2, 3 and 4 of this title and such other positions as may be necessary or desirable for the efficient operation of the code hearing department. One person may hold and fulfill the requirements of one or more of said positions. Hearing officers shall meet the requirements of 65 Illinois Compiled Statutes 5/1-2.1-4(c) and shall have successfully completed a formal training program which includes the following:
   A.   Instruction on the rules of procedure of the administrative hearings which he/she will conduct;
   B.   Orientation to each subject area of the code violations he/she will adjudicate;
   C.   Observation of administrative hearings; and
   D.   Participation in hypothetical cases, including ruling on evidence and issuing final orders.
In addition, every hearing officer must be an attorney licensed to practice law in the state of Illinois for at least three (3) years. (Ord. 2010-05-12, 5-6-2010)
