12-2-1: DISCHARGE:
Where a sump pump is used for the collection of drainage from foundation footing drains such drainage shall not be discharged into the septic tank, sanitary sewer, public road surface or within fifteen feet (15') of the property line of the contiguous landowner. It being the intent of this section to provide that the sump pumps may only be discharged on an owner's property or into an underground storm sewer or open drainage ditch which underground sewer line or open drainage ditch are part of the storm sewer system of the village. Where it is necessary to pump laundry and toilet wastes, a separate pit and injector pump shall be provided for such purposes exclusively, and they shall be discharged into the sanitary sewer or septic tank. The direction of the flow from any injector and/or sump pump shall be controlled by necessary valves on the discharge piping. (Ord. 2010-04-08, 4-1-2010)
