6-1-4: CONDITIONS FOR DISCONTINUANCE OF REFUSE SERVICE:
   A.   Procedure For Discontinuance:
      1.   Whenever any utility user desires to discontinue the Municipal refuse service because the property to which such service is supplied has been vacated or is uninhabited, or will be unused for a period of time, he shall notify the City Clerk that he wishes such refuse service to be discontinued. The utility user shall exhibit to the City Clerk his most recent utility service bill showing that the utility services, as well as all service charges have been paid to date. If all utility services and service charges have been paid in full to date, the City Clerk shall notify all the appropriate City departments that all the Municipal refuse service is to be discontinued, as well as the date of its discontinuance.
      2.   Whenever a utility user desires to recommence the refuse service discontinued as provided herein, the City Clerk shall notify all the appropriate City departments that the Municipal refuse service is to be reinstated to the utility user's premises and the date at which the refuse service is to commence.       3.   No fee or service charge shall be assessed for any of the above services. (1990 Code §8-204)
   B.   Billing Abated: All billings for refuse service upon the utility service bill shall be abated and discontinued, and all refuse service shall be discontinued until the utility user notifies the City Clerk that refuse service should be reinstated. (1990 Code §8-204; amd. 2018 Code)
