(a) A permit shall be required to maintain, store or handle liquids, gases, solids, materials or articles which produce conditions hazardous to life or property or to install equipment used in connection with such activities wherever specified in the adopted Fire Prevention Code.
(b) An application shall be submitted to the Bureau of Fire Prevention, along with a twenty-five dollar ($25.00) permit fee, except that no fee is required for a business, operation or installation which is otherwise permitted or licensed by the Municipality for a fee, and no fee is required for a place of assembly for religious, educational, charitable or welfare purposes.
(c) The permit shall expire one year from the date of issuance and is renewable annually for one calendar year upon payment of a renewal fee of twenty-five dollars ($25.00).
(d) The permit must be approved by the Chief of the Fire Department and the Chief of the Bureau of Fire Prevention, and such approval shall be noted on the application prior to the issuance of the permit. The Chief of the Fire Department and/or the Chief of the Bureau of Fire Prevention may require an applicant to file a bond in such an amount as they deem adequate to cover all damages which might result from such business, operation or installation. A permit may be denied when the Chief of the Fire Department and/or the Chief of the Bureau of Fire Prevention consider the business, operation or installation as unduly hazardous to life or property.
