As used in this chapter:
(a) “Dry cleaning business” means the business of removing dirt, grease, paints and other spots and stains from wearing apparel, hats, caps or similar headgear, felts, fur, hair, feathers, leather, rugs and all other textile fabrics by immersion or agitation in a flammable or nonflammable liquid solvent, except water, in open vessels or closed machines or by any hazardous process or by brushing or scouring with such solutions.
(b) “Coin-operated dry cleaning machine” means any machine or device designed or intended for use by, or used by, the general public for the cleaning of textiles, fabrics, garments or other articles by the use of any solvent other than water.
(c) “Laundry business” means the business of cleaning garments or other textile fabrics by immersion or agitation in water with or without a cleansing agent.
(d) “Coin-operated laundry machine” means any machine or device intended or designed for use by, or used by, the general public for the cleansing of garments or other textile fabrics by immersion in or agitation in water with or without a cleansing agent.
(e) “Used by the general public” means the insertion of such textiles, fabrics, garments or other articles into a dry cleaning unit or laundry unit or the removal of the same from such unit by a person or persons other than an employee of a dry cleaning business or laundry business or person owning and operating such business.
