The members of the Environmental Commission shall be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by a majority of the members of Council for terms of three years each, except that initial appointments made pursuant to this section shall be as follows:
(a) Three members shall be appointed to serve for a term beginning with the date of their respective appointments and expiring July 1, 1973.
(b) Two members shall be appointed to serve for a term beginning with the date of their respective appointments and expiring July 1, 1974.
(c) Two members shall be appointed to serve for a term beginning with the date of their respective appointments and expiring July 1, 1975.
Any vacancy occurring for any reason during the term of any member shall be filled for the balance of the unexpired term in the manner authorized for the original appointment.
