SECTION 3.3. QUALIFICATIONS.
   No person shall be eligible to be a member of Council unless he or she shall have been continuously a resident and a qualified elector of the Municipality for one (1) year immediately prior to his or her election or appointment, and no person shall serve as a member of Council unless during his or her term of office he or she shall continue to be a resident and a qualified elector of the Municipality, and if elected or appointed from a ward, shall be and continue to be a resident of that ward. He or she shall not hold any other public office, except as otherwise provided in this Charter, and except that of notary public, or member of the State militia or the reserve corps of the armed forces of the United States unless called to full-time military service therein for a period exceeding thirty (30) consecutive days, and shall not be interested in the profits or emoluments of any contract with or job, work or service for the City of Willowick, nor shall he or she hold public employment with the City of Willowick. Any person who shall cease to possess any of the qualifications herein required shall forthwith forfeit his or her office and any such contract in which such member is or may become interested may be declared void by the Council.
