(A) It shall be unlawful to keep or maintain cattle, swine, sheep, goats, mule, bull, ox, cow, calf, hog or other livestock or any poultry or fowl of any kind in the Village. No other animals may be maintained in the Village for any purpose other than as pets except as otherwise permitted in pet shops and animal hospitals.
(B) Anything herein to the contrary notwithstanding, the Chief of Police may, from time to time, in his sole discretion, permit such animals as are described above in such numbers and for such periods of time as he may authorize, for educational, entertainment or other desirable purposes; provided, however, that animals within the Village by virtue of such authorization shall be duly and properly supervised and shall not be so treated as to constitute a violation of the Humane Care for Animals Act.
