759.01 DEFINITIONS.
   The following words and phrases when used in this chapter shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them in this section.
   (a)   “Operator” means any person having charge, care, management or control of any dwelling or part of it in which rooming units are let.
   (b)   “Owner” means any person, firm, corporation, partnership, organization or association holding the legal or equitable title to any dwelling, rooming house or rooming unit, or any agent, lessee or assign of any such person, firm, corporation, partnership, organization or association.
   (c)   “Rooming house” means any dwelling, or that part thereof containing one or more rooming units, in which space is let to four or more persons.
   (d)   “Nonconforming rooming house” means a rooming house that was lawfully existing as of January 1, 2007.
   (e)   “Illegal rooming house” means any rooming house established after January 1, 2007, or which has failed to maintain the annual registration requirement set forth in Section 759.02. (Ord. 2020-21. Passed 2-18-20.)
