171.18 LONGEVITY.
   The longevity program and its employee benefits shall not be available to any employees hired by the City of Wickliffe on January 1, 2008 and after. The longevity program and its benefits shall remain in place for all current officers and employees as prescribed by the current Section 171.22 entitled “Longevity”.
   (a)   All full-time employees of the City not covered by an existing written collective bargaining agreement shall be awarded extra compensation in the form of longevity payments at the rate of one hundred dollars ($100.00) for each year of continuous full-time service commencing on the employee’s fifth anniversary date of continuous full-time service. At that time, the employee shall be entitled to a sum of five hundred dollars ($500.00), which shall be divided by twelve and such calculated amount shall be paid to such employee biweekly. Employees with more than five years of full-time service shall be entitled to the appropriate amount as specified in the longevity payment schedule. Longevity shall continue to be awarded on the employees’ successive anniversary dates according to this procedure and the below-listed longevity schedule:

   (b)   The additional compensation provided for herein shall be paid at the same time each employee receives his regular compensation.
   (c)   Any and all compensation specified in all salary ordinances of the City shall be paid in equal biweekly installments. There shall be only twenty-six pay periods in any calendar year.
   (d)   Nonseasonal, part-time employees, excluding school guards and casual help, shall receive pro-rata longevity payments of two percent (2%) for every four-year period of service as part-time employees of the City. However, such longevity shall not exceed ten percent (10%) over a twenty-year period. Such payments shall be made in June and December of each year.
