171.01 BONDS.
   (a)   Notwithstanding the provisions of any other law requiring an official bond to be a condition substantially to the effect that an officer or employee will faithfully perform his/her duties, in lieu thereof, with the consent and approval of the Mayor or Council authorized to require the bond, any department or instrumentality of the City of Wickliffe may procure a blanket bond from any duly authorized corporate surety covering officers and employees other than:
      (1)    The Director of Finance, Accounts Receivable Clerk, and tax collectors by whatever title known;
      (2)    Any officers or employee required by law to execute or file an individual official bond to qualify for office or employment.
   (b)   Such blanket bond shall indemnify the City of Wickliffe against loss occasioned by the failure of any officer or employee of said departments and instrumentalities to faithfully perform his/her duties and/or any dishonest acts.
   (c)   Each bond authorized by this ordinance shall, upon its approval, be delivered to the Director of Finance who shall immediately record it in a file provided for that purpose and file it and preserve it in his/her office.
   (d)   The premium for said blanket bond may be paid by the City of Wickliffe.
