Whenever the inspector finds any defects in any new building, or finds that the building is not being constructed or has not been constructed in accordance with the provisions of §§ 151.20 et seq., or that an old building, because of its condition, is dangerous or likely to cause a fire, it shall be his or her duty to notify the owner of the building of the defects or the failure to comply with §§ 151.20 et seq., and the owner or builder shall immediately remedy the defect and make the building comply herewith.
