161.09 VACATION AND SICK LEAVE CREDIT CARRYOVER.

   (a)   Pursuant to Ohio R.C. 9.44, all current employees employed on or after July 5, 1987 by the City of Whitehall, shall only have their prior public employment service within the City of Whitehall counted as service for the purpose of computing their amount of annual vacation leave with the City.

   (b)   Pursuant to Ohio R.C. 124.38, all current employees of the City who have prior public employment with the State of Ohio or any of its political subdivisions, shall be credited up to a maximum of 80 hours of their accumulated sick leave from such former employer(s).

   (c)   The City Auditor is hereby authorized to credit such additional vacation and/or sick leave to the records of all current employees who qualify pursuant to Ohio R.C. 9.44 and 124.38, and pay such additional vacation leave and sick leave as utilized. The City Auditor shall require such written verification as he or she deems necessary from the former public employers in order to carry out the requirements of this section. (Ord. 27-13.
