161.06 EMPLOYEE STATUS FOR RATE OF PAY AND BENEFITS.
(a) Rates Established on Basis of Full-time Service. Salary rates provided by the current and prevailing salary ordinance are fixed on the basis of full-time service in full-time positions. If any position requires less than full-time service, the hourly rate applicable shall be used except as provided in subsection (b) hereof.
(b) Equivalent Established for Part-time Workers. Part-time workers paid on a proportionate salary basis rather than on an hourly rate shall accumulate credit toward merit increases on the basis of 1,040 hours as being the equivalent of six months full-time service and 2,080 hours as being equivalent to a year of full-time service.
(c) City Auditor Prohibited from Approving or Paying New Rates. The City Auditor is hereby prohibited from approving and/or paying any rate based on the assignment of any class to a pay range not specifically authorized by Council.
(d) Regulation of Pay Periods and Payroll Deductions.
(1) All regular employees of the City shall be paid bi-weekly on alternate Fridays.
(2) Payroll deductions, in addition to deductions for taxes, retirement or court-ordered child and/or spousal support, may be authorized by the Auditor with the consent of Council, expressed by ordinance amending the Administrative Code or by resolution for a one-time use.
(3) All computations of vacation leave and sick leave shall be computed and carried to the fifth decimal place as permitted by the payroll computer.
