139.02 DOG WARDEN.

   (a)    There is hereby created the position of Dog Warden in the City to be appointed by the Mayor and work under the direction and supervision of the Director of Public Safety. The Dog Warden shall be considered a full-time employee and shall be in the classified civil service.

   (b)    The Dog Warden shall have the duties of:

      (1)    Catching, restraining, controlling and disposing of animals running at large in the City;

      (2)    Ascertaining and notifying the owner of such animals, if possible;

      (3)    Performing such other duties as may be imposed by the Director.
