167.01 ESTABLISHMENT.

(a) There is hereby established the Department of Economic and Community Development, to be headed by a Director of Development. This department shall also contain the position of Economic Development Specialist, appointed by the Director of Development, which shall be a full-time, unclassified and exempt position and shall perform such duties and work in such capacities as directed by the Director of Development.

(b) The Department of Economic and Community Development shall contain a Division of Community Affairs, said Division to be staffed by a Community Affairs Coordinator who shall be appointed by the Mayor. Said Division shall be responsible for management and coordination of community events, outside human services needs, grants administration and dissemination of information regarding these functions to the residents of the City and shall perform such duties and work in such capacities as directed by the Director of Development. The position of Community Affairs Coordinator shall be a full-time, unclassified, exempt position.
