933.01 DEFINITIONS.
The following terms, phrases, words or their derivation shall have the meaning given herein:
(a) "Board of Health" means the Franklin County Board of Health.
(b) "City" means the City of Whitehall, Ohio.
(c) "Commercial establishment" means any structure, whether public or private, that is adapted for occupancy, for transaction of business, for rendering of professional service, for amusement, for the display, sale or storage of goods, wares or merchandise, or for the performance of work or labor, including, by way of example only, motels, hotels, public buildings, office buildings, stores, trailer parks, theaters, houses or buildings consisting of four or more residential units, factories and all outhouses, sheds, barns and other structures on premises used for business purposes and not defined as residential.
(d) "Commercial hauler" means any person, firm or corporation holding a valid license from the City to collect, transport and dispose of garbage, rubbish, trash and refuse of commercial establishments.
(e) "Garbage" means putrescible animal or vegetable waste resulting from the handling, preparation, cooking and consumption of food.
(f) "Residential" means a house, building, room or suite of rooms so constructed or equipped as to provide residence quarters for not more than three families and excludes all premises and buildings defined as commercial establishments.
(g) "Rubbish" means all putrescible and nonputrescible solid waste, including ashes, street cleaning, dead animals, solid market and industrial, combustible or noncombustible such as paper, rags, cardboard, tin cans, yard clippings, tree trimmings, wood, glass, crockery and similar materials.
(h) "Trash" means rubbish and refuse of every kind and description other than garbage which is ordinarily produced or accumulated in and about a residence, exclusive of waste matters of scrap, accumulated or produced in carrying on manufacturing or industrial processes, and also exclusive of debris resulting from or accumulated from the construction, alteration, major repairs or razing of any building or structure and also exclusive of limbs, branches and trunks, resulting from major trimming or cutting down of trees. (i) "Recyclables" means those materials designated by the Mayor for separate collection and processing. (Ord. 34-91. Passed 4-16-91.)
