529.16 REGISTER REQUIRED TO BE KEPT.
(a) All hotels, motels, boarding houses and other public lodging houses shall keep a register showing the name, address, number in party and the license number of any motor vehicle operated by any person who stays overnight in such lodging place. No person, being the owner or operator or employed by or connected with the management of any hotel, motel, boarding house or other public lodging house shall fail, refuse or neglect to require such registration. No such person as set forth in this section shall refuse or fail to provide all of the above information or refuse or fail to open such above records to any law enforcement officer when called upon to do so.
(b) Whoever violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree.
