517.27 NONCOMPLIANCE; REMEDY OF CITY.
   Any person violating the provisions of Sections 517.25 and 517.26 shall be deemed subject to the penalty provided therein. Should the Director of Public Service so elect, he may, after due notice has been served upon the property holder, and the same not having been responded to, proceed to free such pavement, gutter and/or dedicated portion of the street from weeds and growths, and report the cost thereof to Council, which may assess the cost of the same against such property to be certified to the County Auditor to be collected as are other taxes and assessments. Any person violating the provisions of Section 517.41 shall be deemed subject to the penalty provided therein or to the penalty provided under the Property Maintenance Code created in Chapter 1337 of the Building Code. Should the Director of Public Service so elect, he may, after due notice has been served upon the property holder, and the same not having been responded to, proceed to free, clear and/or remove grass clippings, tree and shrub limbs, litter, garbage, rubbish, trash, junk, etc. as listed in Section 517.41 and report the cost thereof to Council, which may assess the cost of removal against such property to be certified to the County Auditor to be collected as are other taxes and assessments.
