(A) Any person violating any provisions of this chapter for which no other penalty is provided shall be subject to the provisions of § 10.99.
(B) (1) If any person shall violate or fail to comply with any provision of the Minimum Housing Standards Code or any notice or order issued pursuant thereto, he or she shall, upon conviction, be punished by a fine not exceeding $500, or other amount deemed appropriate by the Municipal Court, or by imprisonment for not exceeding 30 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment; and each day such violation shall continue shall constitute a separate offense.
(2) The imposition of the penalties herein prescribed shall not preclude the City Attorney from instituting an appropriate action or proceeding to prevent an unlawful erection, construction, reconstruction, addition, alteration, conversion, removals, demolition, maintenance, or use or to restrain, correct, or abate a violation or to prevent the occupancy of a building or structure or portion thereof, or of the premises, or to prevent an illegal act, conduct, business, or use in or about any premises.
