§ 50.01 ELECTRICAL CODE ADOPTED; PURPOSE, APPLICATION, AND THE LIKE.
   (A)   There is hereby adopted by the Common Council, for the purpose of establishing rules and regulations for the practical safeguarding of persons and of buildings and their contents from hazards arising from the use of electricity for light, heat, power, radio signaling, and for other purposes, that certain electrical code known as the National Electrical Code, recommended by the National Fire Protection Association, being particularly the 2017 edition thereof and amendments made thereto, of which code not less than one copy, certified by the Mayor, has been and now is filed in the office of the City Clerk, and such code is hereby incorporated in and made apart of this section as fully as though it were set out at length herein; and from and after August 1, 2020, the provisions thereof shall, subject to the exceptions contained in § 50.02, be controlling in the installation of electrical conductors, wiring, and equipment within or on public and private buildings and premises situated within the city. The electrical code with amendments adopted by this section shall be known and may be cited as the Electrical Code.
