With regard to buildings and structures, the provisions of the Electrical Code shall apply only to construction or major remodeling begun or occurring after March 3, 1969. MAJOR REMODELING shall be defined as reconstruction or remodeling work involving more than 50% of the existing electrical system of the structure or building. The Electrical Code shall not otherwise apply to structures and buildings in existence as of March 3, 1969.
