§ 92.13 SEWER AND WATER TAPS.
   (A)   Trenches for water and sewer taps shall be at least 30 inches wide at the water main to allow room to make tap. Copper line attaching to the corporation valve shall have a sharp radius “S” shape to permit the service line to contact the unexcavated trench within 18 inches of the main. This radius shall be bent before attaching to the main. No lines are to be attached to a corporation valve unless a water division inspector is present. Copper shall be attached as soon as the tap is made and extended to the property line. At this point a Mueller Oriseal (or equal) curb valve will be installed with cast iron Buffalo type curb box over.
   (B)   Sewer mains shall be entered with a short saddle so as to allow no protrusion inside the main. The contractor assumes all responsibility and furnishes all labor to make this tap. In the event of a broken sewer main tile resulting from the tap or excavation, replacement is required and no cement patches will be permitted. The water division will inspect all sewer lines. Inspections will be made during the work day, Monday through Friday. The above does not prohibit the excavation and laying of house lines (except the tap into the main) if left open for later inspections. ('70 Code, § 903.13) Penalty, see § 92.99
