§ 541.12 FAIR HOUSING.
   (A)   No person shall refuse to sell, purchase, lease or rent any housing accommodations within the corporate limits of the city by reason of race, creed, color or national origin of any prospective buyer, seller, lessee or tenant.
   (B)   No provision of this section shall be applicable in the following instances:
      (1)   The rental or lease of a room and/or rooms and/or apartment accommodations within a single-family dwelling or residence wherein an owner or owners of such single-family dwelling or residence also resides;
      (2)   The sale, rental, lease or purchase of a single-family dwelling or residence provided an owner or owners of such single-family dwelling or residence resides or has resided therein; and further provided, that such sale, purchase, lease or rental is by an owner or owners of such single-family dwelling or residence and not by an agent of such owner or owners; or
      (3)   The rental or lease of apartment accommodations in a structure which is commonly understood to be an apartment building; provided that such apartment building contains four or less apartment units; and further provided that an owner or owners of such apartment building resides in one or more of such apartment units.
