SECTION III-2. QUALIFICATIONS.
   The Mayor shall be a qualified elector of the Municipality and shall have resided continuously in the Municipality for not less than two (2) years preceding the date he or she is to assume office and shall have attained the age of 21 years prior to the date of his or her election. During his term of office, he shall continue to be a resident and qualified elector. He or she shall not hold any other public office or public employment, except that of notary public or a member of the State Militia or reserve corps of the United States, and shall not be interested in the profits or emoluments of any contract, job, work, or service with or for the Municipality as provided by general law. If the Mayor shall cease to possess any of the qualifications for such office, or shall be convicted of a crime involving moral turpitude, his or her office shall immediately become vacant.
