In issuing the citation and complaint authorized by section 6.08.210 of this chapter, the animal control officer shall proceed as follows:
A. He shall prepare a written citation to appear in court, on a citation form to be provided by the city, which shall contain the name and address of the cited person, the offense charged, and the date thereof. Such citation shall state the date when the cited person shall appear in court.
B. Such cited person shall sign the citation agreeing to appear as directed, and one copy of the citation shall be delivered to such person, whereupon the officer may release such cited person from custody.
C. As soon as practicable, the officer shall verify the citation to appear and cause the citation to be filed with the clerk of the municipal court, retaining one copy for the records of the officer. (Ord. 408 §1, 1976: Ord. 382 §10(B), 1975)
