§ 150.15  CARPORTS AUTHORIZED.
   (A)   Any owner of a house and lot in the Wake Village Addition of the city may construct a carport on his or her lot, notwithstanding the provisions of any other ordinances of the city, according to the following terms and conditions:
      (1)   The carport shall be of the open type, not in excess of 20 feet from front to back and 20 feet from side to side.
      (2)   No carport shall contain closed storage areas or storage buildings or have constructed sides, and shall be open on all sides.
      (3)   Carports shall be built no closer than 12 feet from curb line and five feet to the side setback line.
      (4)   Plans for all carports shall be submitted to the Building Inspector for approval.  All carports shall be inspected by the Building Inspector during construction and after completion.
      (5)   No carport shall be constructed that is structurally unsound, dangerous, from used materials, unsightly, or in such a manner as to block visibility from intersections, streets, sidewalks, or driveways so as to create a dangerous condition.
      (6)   Permits for carports shall bear a permit fee in an amount set by Council from time to time, which shall be paid at the time of issuing the permit.
      (7)   No other permit, petition for variance, fees, or other action shall be necessary on the part of the owner, notwithstanding any other ordinance, who builds a carport under the terms and conditions of this section.
      (8)   This section in no way affects any restrictive covenants approved by the owners or developers on the addition.
   (B)   Any other construction of carports, buildings, garages, storage buildings, or other construction not in accordance with this section shall comply with the existing ordinances of the City of Wake Village.
