12-4-2: TREE PROTECTION DURING CONSTRUCTION:
   A.   During Construction:
      1.   Protected trees as described in Section 12-4-1 of this Chapter shall be protected during all on-site construction activities either by providing temporary fencing at the drip line and excluding therefrom all construction equipment and materials storage, or by adhering to the trunk vertical timbers in cases where there is not sufficient room for drip line protection.
      2.   Construction activities in the vicinity of some species of trees constitutes an assault, the effect of which can be mitigated by a variety of practices including pruning, root pruning, feeding and tunneling for the installation of utilities. Where failure to undertake such practices results in the loss of a tree it shall be replaced in accordance with the replacement standards set forth in Section 12-4-4 of this Chapter.
   B.   Post-Construction: The post-construction protection of mature and young woodlands shall be in accordance with the resource protection standards of the Wadsworth Zoning Ordinance 1 . (Ord. 97-473, 4-1-1997)
