§ 71.71 REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS.
   (A)   The owners or lessees of golf carts must register them annually with the city on or before May 1, and pay an annual registration fee of $12. Further, the owners or lessees of golf carts shall submit their golf carts for a one time initial inspection and pay the one time inspection fee of $25.
   (B)   All payments shall be made to Clerk-Treasurer who, after inspection by the Police Department verifying that the cart is insured and equipped as required by § 71.73 and § 71.74, respectively, of this subchapter, shall issue a certificate of registration (“permit”) and numerical tags.
      (1)   The permit must be in the golf cart or in the possession of the person operating the golf cart at all times such golf cart is in operation on city streets or thoroughfares.
      (2)   The numerical tags shall be prominently attached to and displayed on the front and rear of the golf cart.
