1721.04 ISSUANCE OF CITATIONS.

   (a)   Building Inspector, as authorized by Vienna City Ordinance 141.01 and the Code Enforcement Officer, as authorized by Vienna City Ordinance 143.01, may issue a citation for any violations of Article 1721. The Code Enforcement Officer or the Vienna Fire Chief (VVFD) shall have the authority to issue citations for any violation of City Ordinance 1505 - Fire Prevention Code and 1509 - Outdoor Fires.

   (b)   Violations for which a citation may be issued include, but are not limited to:

      (1)    Failing to correct a Code item as directed by the Building Inspector or Code Enforcement Officer;

      (2)    Starting work prior to obtaining a permit;

      (3)    Failing to honor a stop-work order issued by the Building Inspector or Code Enforcement; and

      (4)    Tampering with, or rendering inoperable, on-premise firefighting equipment, fire detection equipment or fire alarm systems.

      (5)    Failure to comply with the terms of Article 1505 including failure to correct any dangerous condition after the appeal process has been exhausted as set out in Article 1505.12 and 1505.14.

   (c)   Each and every day during which any violation continues after official notice of violation has been given in writing shall be deemed a separate offense.
