§ 50.52 DECLARATION OF A WATER SHORTAGE EMERGENCY.
   Whenever the Public Works Director, the public purveyor of potable water in the Versailles Municipal Water Service Area, finds that the Versailles Municipal Water Company is unable to meet the expected needs of its customers, and that such a condition will exist for some period of time in the future, and upon written certification thereof to the Mayor, the Mayor shall publicly declare a water shortage emergency. In addition to the declaration, the Mayor shall call upon all customers in the Versailles Municipal Water Service Area to employ voluntary water conservation to eliminate the waste of all treated water and to eliminate the use of water outside of buildings, and to use water only to sustain human life and the lives of domestic pets; maintain minimum standards of hygiene and sanitation; provide essential patient care and rehabilitation in health care facilities; and fire fighting for purposes of protection of the public and public properties.
