§ 31.01 MAYOR.
   (A)   The Mayor shall perform the statutory duties of the office and other duties as directed by Council on a regular basis during the regular business hours of the Van Wert Municipal Building and during such other hours as may be necessary and proper.
   (B)   The Mayor shall maintain regular office hours during the time that the Van Wert Municipal Building is open to the public unless the Mayor is engaged in Van Wert city business away from the Municipal Building.
   (C)   The Mayor shall have such vacation time and sick leave as is necessary and reasonable.
   (D)   The salary of the Mayor shall be as set by Council.

   (E)   Before entering upon the duties of this office, the Mayor shall furnish bond in the sum set by Council.

   (F)   When the Mayor is absent from the city or is unable for any cause to perform his or her duties, the President of Council shall be the Acting Mayor.
   (G)   The Mayor may have the use of a city-owned motor vehicle for city business only as part of the Mayor's office.
