A. Authorized Persons: It shall be unlawful for any person other than the public works department or a person duly appointed by the town council to make any sewer connections to and with the town sewer system, or repair any sewer connection in the streets and alleys within the town limits; provided, however, that connections made under the direct supervision of the public works department or a person duly appointed by the town council will be deemed to comply with this section.
B. Connection Through Adjoining Lots Prohibited: No consumer shall be permitted to connect sewer pipes to lots or buildings through adjoining lots.
C. Multiple Connections: Two (2) or more premises cannot be supplied from the same connection.
D. Cost Of Connection: Any person obtaining a permit for connection to the town sewer and water system shall pay to the town clerk a sum of money sufficient to pay the cost of connection or extension of any water or sewer line. Such sum shall be determined by the town council and public works department and shall be based on actual costs of construction and trench digging to a point three feet (3') within the property line. All work shall be accomplished under the direction of the public works department and all costs of such connection or extension shall be paid by the permit holder. If the deposit made is not sufficient to cover actual costs, the permit holder shall pay the difference between the deposit and the actual cost. If the deposit made by the permit holder is more than the actual cost, the balance of such amount shall be returned to the permit holder. (Ord. 181, 8-11-2016, eff. 9-10-2016)
