SECTION 3.01. QUALIFICATION, TERM.

The chief executive officer of the City shall be the Mayor. The Mayor shall be a qualified elector of the City of Urbana. The Mayor shall be elected by the people to a 4-year term at the general election of 1979 and every fourth year thereafter. The Mayor's term of office shall commence on January 1 of the year following his election.
