901.11 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings provided in this section:
   (a)   “Slit trench” is a ditch or cut of three inches or less in width as commonly used for laying cable.
   (b)   “Trenching” shall be the creation or digging, by hand or machine, of a ditch or cut in the earth of more than three feet in depth, excluding slit trenches, including, but not limited to, foundations, etc., as set forth at Section 901.12.
