(a) The information required in Section 1513.01 shall be maintained in an approved "Lock Box or Boxes" at a location or locations designated by the Fire Chief or his designee. All information required by this chapter shall be maintained in current order in accordance with this chapter and Section 311 and 312 of Subtitle B of SARA.
(b) All lock boxes as required by this chapter shall be a minimum of 14 inches x 18 inches x 5 inches and constructed of 1/8" plate steel with an additional 1/4" steel front plate or equivalent. All lock boxes required by this section shall be equipped with a high security Medeco Level 3 lock or equivalent. All lock boxes located within the City and within the designated emergency planning district as defined by the State Emergency Response Commission shall be keyed alike so as to provide access by normal mutual aid response agencies. The location of all "Lock Boxes" required under this section shall be clearly identified by a highly visible three inch reflective Federal safety yellow diagonal strip across the "Box".
(c) For larger facilities or facilities with multiple buildings, the Fire Chief or his designee shall designate the number and location of the "Lock Boxes".
(d) All buildings under construction shall be equipped with a key lock box with an approximate size of 4" x 5" x 4" containing the key to such building. Contractors shall advise the Fire Chief of the location of such key box and order such boxes through the Fire Department.
(e) The Fire Chief or his designate may require key lock boxes on buildings with automatic sprinklers, in connection with the use of fire pumps or elevators in nursing homes or apartment buildings or as determined necessary by the Fire Chief.
