It shall be unlawful for any officer connected with the fire department to suffer or allow the engine, apparatus or equipment to be taken beyond the city limits, except for training or mutual aid, and it shall be unlawful for any person having charge of any engine or other apparatus to suffer or allow the same to be applied to the private use, without the permission of the fire chief. In no event will the city be left without proper protective equipment. (1977 Code § 2.30.060)
