SCHEDULE I. TRUCK ROUTES.
   (A)   The following streets are designated as truck routes within the city to ensure the integrity of the roadway infrastructure and to reasonably separate commercial traffic from neighborhoods while providing adequate routes for commercial traffic:

14th Street (Loop 197 South to 4th Avenue South)

5th Avenue South (Highway 146 to 14th Street)

Century Boulevard (Highway 3 to GCWA)

4th Avenue (6th Street to 10th Street)
HWY 3
6th Street
HWY 146
Loop 197 South
IH-45
25th Avenue North (Highway 146 to 19th Avenue North)
 
   (B)   It shall be unlawful for any person to drive or operate any heavy duty truck with a Class 7 rating or above and a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) range of 26,001 pounds or above upon any street not designated as a truck route in this schedule. ( GROSS VEHICLE WEIGHT RATING means the value specified by the manufacturer as the loaded weight of a single vehicle.)
   (C)   It shall be unlawful to park any heavy duty truck with a Class 7 rating or above and a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) range of 26,001 pounds or above in an area zoned residential not on a designated truck route.
   (D)   The Director of Transportation and Planning is hereby authorized and directed to install appropriate signs and markings to identify those streets designated as truck routes.
   (E)   Exceptions to the truck route requirements are:
      (1)   Authorized emergency vehicles;
      (2)   Vehicles operated or contracted by a public utility;
      (3)   Vehicles operated or contracted by a municipality or other government; and
      (4)   Commercial brick delivery vehicles making actual deliveries.
   (F)   Designation of a street as a truck route does not relieve a person from complying with the parking requirements of § 72.11 of this traffic code.
    (G)   Any person violating any of the provisions of this schedule shall by deemed guilty of a Class C misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined accordingly.
