2-12-2: COMPOSITION; QUALIFICATIONS; TERMS:
   A.   The Taylorville historic preservation commission shall consist of seven (7) voting members, residents of the city of Taylorville, appointed by the mayor and approved by the city council. One of the members shall be a member of the Main Street design committee. The remaining members shall be appointed on the basis of expertise, experience or interest in the area of architectural history, building construction or engineering, finance historical and architectural preservation, neighborhood organizing or real estate.
   B.   Members of the commission shall be appointed for terms of three (3) years. Of those members first taking office, two (2) shall be appointed for one year, three (3) for two (2) years, and two (2) for three (3) years. No members shall serve more than two (2) successive three (3) year terms. Alternate members shall be appointed to serve in the absence of or disqualification of the regular members. Vacancies shall be filled for the unexpired term only. Members shall serve without compensation. (Ord. 2968, 6-19-2000)
