2-10-2: POWERS AND DUTIES:
   A.   Generally: The Board of Health shall have the powers and perform the duties assigned to it by statute or ordinance. It shall be the duty of the Board of Health to enforce all ordinances of the City which relate to public health or relate to nuisances. 1
   B.   Health Rules and Regulations: The Board of Health shall make all necessary rules and regulations for the protection of the health of the City and to guard against the spread of contagious diseases 2 and to prevent, by necessary rules, the induction of diseases, contagious or otherwise, within the corporate limits of the City. (1979 Code Ch. 8, Art. III, §2)
   C.   Quarantine and Vaccination: The Board of Health is hereby authorized to make such reasonable rules as may be necessary regarding quarantines 3 and vaccination for the prevention and spread of contagious diseases and to quarantine premises where such diseases occur for such time as may be necessary to protect public health.
The Board shall have the power to prevent persons from entering or leaving premises on which a case of contagious or epidemic disease occurs or is found and to placard the same with signs indicating the nature of such disease and the existence of quarantine. (1979 Code Ch. 8, Art. III, §3)
