Any person arrested for a violation of any provision of this title shall be released upon proper bail being furnished as required by statute 1 . The police officer in command at the station may prescribe the amount of bail or bond in each instance; provided, that any arrested person may, at his request, have the amount of such bond set by a judge or circuit clerk as provided by statute.
