5-4-4-6: EXCESSIVE NOISE:
It shall be unlawful to operate a motor vehicle that makes an unreasonably loud or excessive noise in any of the following ways:
   A.   When the motor vehicle is stopped, the operator accelerates the engine thereof with the gears of the vehicle in neutral, thereby causing an unreasonably loud or excessive noise; or
   B.   When the motor vehicle is stopped, the operator accelerates the engine with the gears of said vehicle in neutral and while so accelerating the engine, shifts the gears of the vehicle into a forward or reverse movement, thereby causing an unreasonably loud or excessive noise with the wheels or tires of the vehicle; or
   C.   The operator of a motor vehicle accelerates the engine thereof when shifting the gears of such vehicle in such a manner as to cause the wheels or tires of such vehicle to spin rapidly, thereby causing an unreasonably loud or excessive noise; or
   D.   The operator of a motor vehicle accelerates the vehicle or rapidly stops the vehicle causing an unreasonably loud or excessive noise. (Ord. 2888, 12-21-1998)
