5-1-3-2: POLICE INVESTIGATOR/DETECTIVE:
   A.   Office Created; Appointment And Number: There is hereby created the Office of Police Investigator/Detective which shall be a special assignment position rather than a promotion position as of and from January 1, 2018. Thereafter, there may be at least one Police Investigator/Detective who shall be appointed by special assignment from time to time by majority vote of the Aldermen; and the persons so appointed shall not be required to be tested by the Police and Fire Commissioners. The persons who have been appointed prior to January 1, 2018 and serve as Police Investigators/Detectives shall maintain their rank. (Ord. 3860, 8-20-2018)
   B.   Minimum Prior Experience Required: No policeman shall be eligible for Police Investigator/Detective until he or she has served a minimum of ten (10) years as a police officer with any entity. The Police Investigator/Detective "rank" shall be equivalent to that of Police Sergeant.
   C.   Job Description, Qualifications, Duties, And Responsibilities, Etc.: The job description, qualifications, duties and responsibilities, etc., for such Police Investigator/Detective shall be as the City Council may determine from time to time, either prior to or subsequent to such appointment as Police Investigator/Detective. The current job description, qualifications, duties and responsibilities, etc., for such Police Investigator/Detective shall be as set forth on exhibit B on file in the Clerk's Office and incorporated herein by reference thereto.
