For the purpose of this chapter, the following terms or words used herein shall be interpreted and construed as follows:
GARBAGE: Shall mean and include any and all trash, refuse, waste, ashes, rubbish, debris, junk, scrap, recycling materials, construction waste, or garbage of any kind, nature, or extent whatsoever or items of a similar nature.
PERSON: Shall mean and include any firm, entity, partnership, association, organization, or any other group acting as a unit, corporation, as well as any natural person; provided, however, "person" shall not include the city or its employees, officials, or officers while acting in the course of their employment or office of the city.
ROLL-OFF CONTAINER: Shall mean and include any receptacle with a capacity of two (2) cubic yards or more that is designed for the purpose to collect quantities of garbage.
ROLL-OFF CONTAINER VEHICLE: Shall mean and include any vehicle designed for the purpose of transporting any roll-off container, but shall not include any scavenger vehicle.
SCAVENGER, SCAVENGERS OR SCAVENGER BUSINESS: Shall mean and include any person engaged in the business, within the city, of the collection and/or removal and/or disposal of garbage and/or the providing of any roll-off containers for the collection of garbage.
SCAVENGER VEHICLE: Shall mean and include any vehicle designed for the purpose for collecting and/or compacting and/or removing and/or disposing of garbage incident to a scavenger business. (Ord. 3124, 5-19-2003)
